Kinés: Unions slam the door on negotiations with the social security

Unions masseurs-physiotherapists have slammed the door Wednesday for their negotiating forum with health insurance, regretting not to be involved in drawing up new guidelines for good practice which should obey the profession.
Health Minister Roselyne Bachelot said Monday that the High Authority of Health was to validate benchmarks written by health insurance, aimed at defining the physical therapy care for each disease.
Unions masseurs-physiotherapists (FFMKR, OK, SNMKR) accuse the Union Nationale des Caisses d’Assurance Maladie (Uncam) not to have involved in drawing up these repositories in which they reject the “accounting logic”.
“Faced with the refusal of Uncam to involve parties (…) and before the will of the wait Uncam assessing the financial impact on the activity of masseurs-physiotherapists, three unions of the profession had “unanimously decided to leave the CSPN (commission national socio-professional),” they said in a statement.
The establishment of these benchmarks had been advocated in the 2009 budget of Social Security.
Health insurance is particularly harmonizing practices and physiotherapy treatment, based on the observation that the number of sessions for the same disease varies considerably “from one patient to another, with wide regional disparities.
The 2009 budget of the social security system that includes professionals wishing to exceed the number of meetings planned by a repository must seek prior approval of health insurance.
